Pretty good overall, my only complaints would be that the character sprite shakes constantly when moving and there are some jumps that become leaps of faith because I can not see what I will land on. So perhaps adding a camera pan with the up arrow and down arrow could help, you could also make trails of coins so the player knows that they will be okay as long as they follow the path. Mario games do this quite a bit.

Thank you for feedback!

Just wanted to say, I really appreciate text based games like this on Newgrounds. I wish they were more common.

I like the idea and the game is functional, but I do have an issue concerning how exactly things are structured. I found that in many cases I was not able to get a ball in before another spawned. I feel that adjusting the ball spawn speed, the platform tilt speed, and the speed at which the balls roll would help a lot. At the moment it feels far too difficult not constantly get set back. I find this especially apparent with the blue and red ball double spawn. I know the intent is to make it so the player must guide one ball and then pull the other back, but with how fast they come, you can't really afford to do that. I feel with some tweaking of values, this game could become considerably more fair to play. I hope this review was helpful.

Thanks for the critique if I ever decide to make an update I'll definitely use some of your ideas

I absolutely adore this dragging mechanic and it can lead to some really cool level designs. Hope to be seeing more of this in the future. Also Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Pciphidic responds:

Hey! Thanks for the review! Happy holidays to you as well!

I like the game and it's concept, it is rather fun and I think it has potential, but it has some glaring issues that really dampened my enjoyment. I'll go over pros and cons

Pros:

Good presentation (I love the christmas tree and little elves!)
Good sound design
Just fun to play, it is satisfying.

Cons:

The lag becomes immense and makes the game nearly unplayable in later stages, a bottle rocket always guarantees a lag spike and I've had to replay levels more than I should have

Little to no indication of where the airplane elf and ground elves are, it can make things really difficult, I'd suggest adding a little moving icon or a magnifying glass thing of sorts

There isn't a way to gain height, this really becomes an issue when I have a bulb that is just slightly out of reach, when the spinners are low to the ground, I am stuck with an elf that can't go high enough to hit the last couple that I need, making me do it all over again.

The area of effect for the sound of completing a level are too high, leading to me hitting an elf right near the ground and getting the victory or loss jingle even though I did not finish the level.

I'm able to hit X constantly at the title screen, making several elves in airplanes needing to spawn before mine shows up, I know this isn't an issue if you simple do not do it, but I feel people will find themselves spamming the button regardless.

Hitting confirm during the victory jingle activates the begin level jingle which makes them play at the same time. It gets rather annoying, I suggest programming it so that the game stops the victory jingle after you press continue and then it plays the beginning level music.

Overall, with some polishing this has a good bit of potential. Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Hi Lochy, those are good pointer and i will try to execute them. Thanks for playing.

I've addressed all of the problems you had and fixed them as i saw fit, although i've reduced the lag i couldn't eliminate it completely.

Let me know if you find it more enjoyable.

Super cute and definitely needs to be played a few times to manage Santa's activities properly. Solid game, albeit simple. I really liked the inclusion of events that would happen throughout the month and them taking a decent toll on your progress, it helped in making the game feel less repetitive.

TwoPigs responds:

Thank you for playing and enjoying the game - it means a lot to us :D!

This was a cute little game. I really like the concept of moving the pieces around and them changing in size according to the box. My only complaint would be that jumping feels a tad inconsistent (I swear some jumps felt taller than others for no reason, idk maybe I'm crazy). Other than that, nice!

Kultisti responds:

aw thank you for the feedback!
many have said the same about the jump yet it should be the same height every time hehe
buut i could look into that if i publish and update some day, thanks!

Cute little game, I feel like it could use some big pits or enemies designed specifically with the glider, otherwise it feels a bit too easy to leap over everybody.

Domenico-Pentangelo responds:

thank you so much!
